Certification
Question 1. Are ZeroG chips and module products ROHS compliant? Answer. Yes, ZeroG modules and chips are RoHS compliant and production modules carry a marking as an indication.
Question 2. Can devices acquire the Wi-Fi certification from the Wi-Fi Alliance, even if it isn't supporting the ad hoc mode? Answer. Yes, many devices are Wi-Fi certified but do not support ad hoc. ZeroG Wi-Fi supports ad hoc mode.
Question 3. What is the procedure for testing the ZG2100M and ZG2101M modules? Answer. The ZG2100M modules undergo rigorous testing and are certified for Wi-Fi(R), FCC, IC and are compliant with RoHS, CE and ETSI. For more information, visit ZeroG website at http://www.zerogwireless.com/technology/techcertification.html
Question 4. Is there a worldwide certification? Answer. No, every country has its own RF certification requirements. ZeroG provides one of the most comprehensive set of certifications, but it will not be compliant with every single country in the world.
Question 5. Are the domains configurable via the host? Answer. Yes. Domain configuration allows the user to customize the software driver to work with specific channels in various countries, as stated in ANSI/IEEE Std 802.11, 1999 Edition 15.4.6.2 Number of operating channels. Now, for the actual certification, the customer can use our modular certification as long as you use the exact same hardware configuration that ZeroG has certified. The ZeroG ZG2100M and ZG2101M modules have taken into account all the necessary modular hardware consideration and are certified with several antenna options.
Question 6. If I have an existing antenna that I want to use, what effect does this have on certification? Answer. Your antenna must be one of the antennas that ZeroG has certified in order for the RF modular certification to remain valid. Otherwise, you will have to certify your product for the Wi-Fi intentional radiation.
Question 7. What are the specific list of directives that the ZeroG modules are certified to? Answer. Please refer to the technical brief, TB101 - Government Regulatory and Wi-Fi Certification.
Question 8. Can I just transfer the module's certified logos to my end products? Answer. No. For regulatory compliance, ZeroG modules were certified for intentional radition. The end products must also be tested for safety and non-intentional radiation in addition to intentional radiation. For industry standards compliance, please refer to WFA's Module Policy.
Question 9. Where can I find ZeroG module solutions test reports? Answer. Please refer to the technical brief, TB101 - Government Regulatory and Wi-Fi Certification.
