Question 1. Which Microchip microcontrollers work with ZeroG Wi-Fi? Answer. The Wi-Fi PICtail from ZeroG works with Microchip's Explorer 16 board and PICDEM.net2 board. Microcontrollers supported include PIC18, PIC24, dsPIC, and PIC32.
Question 2. What is the difference between a Wi-Fi PICtail and a Wi-Fi module? Answer. The Wi-Fi module is the core building block of an embedded Wi-Fi application and it implements basic wireless networking functionalities. The Wi-Fi PICtail is an add-on customized development card for the Microchip development environment and is used for prototype development only. The Wi-Fi PICtail contains the ZG2100 module soldered-on and interfaces with the Microchip PICDEM.net 2 and Explorer 16. The Wi-Fi module, not the PICtail, can be attached to end applications.
