Development Tools
ZeroG ZeroG Wireless and Microchip Corporation have jointly engineered a Wi-Fi® solution for a broad range of Microchip's 8/16/32-bit PIC® microcontrollers. The solution tightly integrates the ZeroG Easy-Fi® driver into Microchip's TCP/IP networking stack so that developers do not have to download a separate Wi-Fi® driver. The jointly engineered solution has all of the hardware, software, documentation and example applications that enable a customer to be prototyping a Wi-Fi® application on the same day they receive their development kit.
The joint development kit is based on Microchip's PICtail® module architecture, allowing Wi-Fi connectivity to be quickly added to many customers' existing development environment. The Pictail® easily integrates into an existing PIC development environment and code base without a need for new tools or system re-architecture. This means development can start sooner, and it preserves the customer's prior investment in hardware and software. For production, customers can choose certified modules with an on-board PCB antenna or the ability to interface with an external antenna. Production modules can be ordered directly from Microchip or through ZeroG's authorized distribution network.
Microchip Development Tools for ZeroG Wi-Fi®
Wi-Fi® development is easy with ZeroG. Microchip-based "PICtail"® hardware, an optimized driver with seamless integration into the TCP/IP stack, documentation and demo applications.
The Wi-Fi® PICtail®: The PICtail® contains ZeroG's Wi-Fi module and interfaces with a Microchip PIC® microcontroller through SPI.
Development Board: Developers have the option to choose between an Explorer 16 or PICDEM.net 2 for Wi-Fi development. The board contains the PIC® microcontroller and provides the SPI interface to interface with ZeroG's Wi-Fi module.
System software: Software is optimized for fast prototyping within Microchip's development environment
*ZeroG's Easy-Fi® Wi-Fi driver is integrated with Microchip TCP/IP networking stack. There's no need to download a separate driver for Wi-Fi® or software development. * Example web server applications as part of project files * List of APIs for configuring Wi-Fi® * EasyConfig™ webpage setup for communication with an access point.
